With National Day over there are only a few weeks left in August and ‘summer’ before we head into the final third of the year. For those of you that are not on the last days of holiday, we are having quite a big Web Wednesday this month.

We focus this month on one of the major forces in our industry, Social Networking. This time we approach it from the business side instead of the consumer angle. Our speaker this month is from one of the hottest companies in digital media – LinkedIn. Arvind Rajan, MD and VP Asia Pacific and Japan for LinkedIn has just recently arrive in Asia and will be speaking to us about ‘Linked In and the Social Media Landscape’
Arvind is responsible for LinkedIn’s operations across the region. Since joining the company in 2008, Arvind has played a strong leadership role in leading the company’s initiatives and efforts in markets outside the United States and Europe. Arvind has held executive-level positions in a variety of industries such as electric transportation, wireless data networks and Internet startups. His knowledge and experience runs the whole spectrum of skill sets including management, business development, marketing, public affairs and government relations.
Prior to joining LinkedIn, Arvind co-founded Grassroots Enterprise, an interactive public affairs firm where he developed pioneering online grassroots marketing and influencer programs for Fortune 500 companies, national non-profit organizations and government agencies. He spent nine years with the firm, where he progressively served as Vice President of Business Development, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer before it was acquired by Edelman Public Relations.
